The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre chose the Snowdome Foundation as the charity of choice at Pathology Update 2019. Delegates kindly donated to Snowdome at the Roche coffee stand and online ahead of the event raising $7,000 for blood cancer research. Snowdome was chosen due to the synergy with the conference topics. Presenting at the meeting were Professor Miles Prince and Dr Piers Blombery. Not only was this an opportunity to raise funds it also provided Piers and Miles with a chance to elaborate on the research Snowdome is funding. Genomic testing was of particular interest to the pathologists as Piers outlined the benefits in obtaining an accurate diagnosis, prognoses and in aiding the treating physician to ultimately chose the best course of treatment.
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who gave up their Friday night and weekend to support Snowdome. We could not have done it without your help.
